In the Media
The Bourbon Talk Show is a lighthearted look at the world of bourbon. Each episode, a new topic related to America's favorite distilled spirit is covered. Hosted by Steve Akley, Stephanie McNew & Miss Beka Sue.
The 18th Amendment to the United States Constitution made all production and consumption of alcohol illegal in 1919. So began Prohibition, one of the darkest periods in American history. On December 5, 1933, nearly 15 years later, the 21st Amendment was ratified, making alcohol once again legal in the United States. The 5th of December is now celebrated in bars and homes across America as Repeal Day.
Join our RD1 Spirits team by raising a glass of America’s native spirit, bourbon or whiskey, on Repeal Day.
Manchester Reserve Launch Press Release

RD1 Spirits is a revival of Lexington’s First Federally Registered Distillery, established in 1865. In October of 2020, RD1 announced the availability of its first product, WM Tarr Manchester Reserve, in honor of one of the founders of Lexington's historic distillery. Manchester Reserve is an award-winning and exceptional blended product perfectly balancing a 7-year Kentucky bourbon blended with an 8-year rye.

Manchester Street is the corridor to the Distillery District. The area is not only a hotspot in Lexington but a connection to bourbon history. The team behind WM Tarr’s Award-winning whiskies wanted to resurrect the legacy of Lexington's first federally registered distillery. In 1865, that was Ashland Distillery and today, it’s now known as RD1.
